Born in 1983, from Ogume, Ndokwa West Local Government, Michael Anoka holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Production Engineering, and Masters in Business Administration as well as in Public Administration. A member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers and Certified by COREN, Anoka has a strong private sector background, especially in the production sub-sector.

He was a Supervisor at Annol Petroleum before joining Ponkebi Nigeria Ltd handling the Escravos Gas-To-Liquids Project, later to Muhaabix Global Services and, more recently, Tantita Security Service Limited where he headed operations against oil theft in the Ndokwa/River Niger axis. Recognised as a committed community mobiliser, he was appointed in 2015 as Special Assistant on General Duties to the Deputy Governor, a position he kept till the end of the tenure in 2023.
